LEARING TO SPEAK WHALE WITH STEVE BACKSHALL!

It is always special when we welcome back returning guests. Whether it was a single snorkel or a week of manta ray dives, we make lasting memories together and together work towards a cleaner, safer, and more biodiverse future for the Maldives. It is extra special when the returning guests have worked with the MUI team, sharing our story to millions of viewers worldwide.

This month, we were especially thrilled to host renowned naturalist Steve Backshall and Olympic gold medalist Helen Glover. They shared unforgettable moments with our guests and team, including inspiring presentations with the typical, picturesque Maldivian sunset as the backdrop, Steve and Helen inspired guests and hosts alike.

Steve taught all of us “How to speak Whale”, entertaining the audience with tales of his journey in making a documentary about whales, including diving with a pod of orcas and listening to the sonic warfare of sperm whales. Helen inspired us with her experience of “Rowing to Olympic glory”, winning gold and silver medals at 3 Olympics, all while raising 3 children. Stories like these that remind us of what we can accomplish when we surround ourselves with the right support and commit to achieving greatness.
