MUI FEATURES ON OUR CHANGING PLANET

For those who have been reading our Blue and Greens for a while, you will know that we were visited by some brilliant scientists in March last year working on exciting new ways to help our coral reefs recover. This exciting partnership titled the Collaborative for Reefs in Laamu was filmed by a large film crew for the Changing Planet series on PBS and for Our Changing Planet on BBC.

This large and ambitious series is heading around the world to find what is being done to protect our planet as the effects of climate change start to hit. For this episode, the focus was Corals. This month the Coral Special Episode was broadcast on both the BBC and on PBS. With the BBC airing reaching 2.3 million viewers alone. We hope that by enabling this kind of research with strong collaborations around the world we can help inspire hope in the future, and action to make it a reality.

The scientific collaborations made during this exciting project are still going strong and we look forward to continuing to work with Peter Harrison and Steve Simpson and their teams into the future to safeguard are marine ecosystems.
